Curation

Throughout the past week and a half, Yada and I have been creating a Pinterest board to study curation. We discovered that the act of curation isn’t as easy as it seems. Curation is a great process for educators and their students.

Students generally use the top three levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy when going through the process of curation, so it is great for higher ordered learning. Students can work in groups or individually to gather information on their subject. This process also allows them to gather information in more than one way, which allows for individuality. When assessing students on this, it’s best to see how well they gathered the information on the subject, and how they learned based off of the information they gathered.

Personally, curation is great to further our knowledge of basically any subject. Professionally, it’s great to share your activities with other teachers and they can share it with you as well.
